Stanley Kubrick was an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is frequently cited as one of the greatest and most influential directors in cinematic history.

Born July 26 1928 in Manhattan, New York City, to a Jewish family.

In 1946, After finishing William Howard Taft High School became an apprentice photographer for Look and later a full-time staff photographer.

Kubrick married his high-school girlfriend Toba Metz on May 28 1948, when he was nineteen years old.

In 1951, Made first two short documentary films. Inspired by this early success, quit his job at Look. Divorced with Toba Metz.

Married for the second time in 1955 to a dancer and theatrical artist, Ruth Sobotka.

After divorcing his second wife year before, Kubrick married Christiane Harlan in 1958. They had three children.

To film Lolita, moved to England in 1962. And lived there until the end of his life.

On March 7 1999, six days after screening a final cut of ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, Kubrick died in his sleep at the age of 70, after suffering a massive heart attack.
